Dead Lover's Day by Alexandra Mihill

A musical about love, hate, betrayal and insanity. It starts when we meet Frank and Edith, two happy-go-lucky-lovers, hopelessly devoted to each other. They share a promise, to be together forever. When faced with Frank’s sudden death, Edith must tackle the most difficult decision of her life, uphold her promise or fall in love with another. Meanwhile, Frank awakens to a strange new world. An unintended stop gap, The Land of Lost Lover’s, mercilessly presided over by mistress of macabre, Laverna. In this underworld, unfortunate souls are contented to wait for the passage of their respective significant others. Frank, convinced of Edith’s devotion, agrees to wait, vicariously experiencing her life through a one way mirror, until they are together again. When Don, an enlightened member of the troupe, raises the issue of Laverna’s motivation, it brings the entire purpose and intention of the underworld into question, threatening Frank’s confidence and testing the very bounds of his beliefs.

Is it worth waiting for?
